The Studio Collection: Transport & Handling Protocols
To guarantee your custom pastry arrives at your celebration as beautifully as it leaves our kitchen, we require all clients to review our formal handling protocols.
High-art cakes and delicate entremets are fragile, temperature-sensitive edible creations. Once an order safely leaves our studio in Santa Clarita Valley, the client assumes full structural responsibility for the creation. Following these expert transport rules protects your investment during your Southern California commute.
The Three Golden Rules of Safe Pastry Transport
- The Flat Surface Mandate: Never place a custom cake on a vehicle seat, a passenger's lap, or a tilted trunk floor. The slight slant will cause internal layers to shift during turning. Your cake must sit on a completely flat, level surface, such as the front passenger floorboard or a cleared, flat SUV trunk space.
- The Climate Control Rule: Buttercream and delicate chocolate glazes will melt rapidly in a warm car. You must set your vehicle's air conditioning to a firm, cool temperature at least 5 minutes before arriving at our studio. Never stop for secondary errands while a custom pastry is inside your vehicle.
- The Final Storage Protocol: Unless your event takes place immediately, your cake or entremet must go directly into a standard refrigerator upon arrival at your destination. Bring the cake out to display in a cool, indoor space exactly 1 hour before slicing to let the flavor profiles soften to absolute perfection.
