What here is gluten-free?
Nearly everything already is, or can be made 100% gluten-free only.
All of the cakes, cookies, and entremets can be made both vegan and gluten-free. Nearly all of the African Pastries are vegan and gluten-free, too. The items* that are not gluten-free are: Nigerian ‘Meat’ Pies made with puff pastry, Coconut-Marzipan Sweet Bread, and all of the croissants (because of the pastry flour required to make puff pastry).
Good news: the ‘Meat’ Pies and Koeksisters can be made gluten-free!
*Please note: the items mentioned above are available depending on the season and our latest menu. Not all items listed above will be available year-round.
What here is vegan?
To date, all of our products either already are or can be made 100% vegan. To be clear, virtually all of our products can be made both vegan and gluten-free. This includes all of our cakes, cookies, African pastries, and entremets.
In the spirit of our motto and deeply ingrained message of inclusivity, we have recently expanded our dessert selection to include tasty treats that are 100% gluten-free only, sourcing the highest quality, responsibly sourced, organic butter, milk, and free-range eggs.
During checkout, please specify if you want want a 100% gluten-free *only* dessert!
What about delivery?
Glad you asked! If you’re up for a drive and want to do a local pickup, then there’s no delivery fee! Otherwise, flat rates vary according to the pickup location that you enter when you check out.
(Also, regarding the Checkout page, the delivery fee will adjust once you enter a request to pickup your order from a determined location, so don’t fret!)

How long will your products last?
Well, that depends on what product(s) you buy. No added preservatives are used in any of our products, so enjoying them sooner is always better. Please find a rough guide to the shelf-life of various products* below:
Cookies? Leave them in an airtight container on the shelf for up to three days.
Croissants? Leave them in an airtight container for up to a day. They’ll get stale afterwards, so try to avoid that!
‘Meat’ Pies? Leave them in the fridge for up to three days.
Raw cake? Leave in the fridge for up to two days. Thereafter, cut into slices, wrap tightly with aluminum foil or plastic, and freeze.

All in all, for maximum freshness, we strongly recommend eating the products sooner rather than later.

What about cross-contamination?
Helping those who suffer from gluten sensitivity or Celiac disease is a cause that we’re extremely passionate about.
It hits very close to home, and learning that a co-owner of Chipper & Cheeky has Celiac was a huge motivator in creating our business. We are very careful not to cross-contaminate gluten-free ingredients and wheat ingredients.
Please know that we cannot entirely eliminate ingredients containing gluten from our kitchen and therefore cannot be held responsible for a possible reaction. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Let’s work it out.
I am allergic to (Fill In the Blank)… What products can I buy or consume?
Let’s talk! Chipper & Cheeky is very accommodating to food allergies. Once we discuss your special needs, we can figure out whether you can place a special order.
